Luckbox appoints former Red Bull, Riot Games and FOX lead as Head of Content
Esports betting platform Luckbox has appointed Nevzat Ucar as Head of Content.
Mr Ucar joins Luckbox having most recently worked as Head of Content for Red Bull and his previous roles include Head of Video and Broadcast for Riot Games and Art Director for FOX International Channels. Mr. Ucar will play a leading role in Luckbox’s marketing strategy, and will be responsible for driving global content strategy. The two related businesses are associated with entrepreneur Nic Brereton and had only recently started operating under their own licences. BresBet was licensed in February 2025, while Bet St George received its licence in December and launched in March this year.
At launch six months ago, Brereton told iGB that Bet St George would use the experience he gained applying advanced data models in the medical sector to improve the customer experience in betting.
“Sometimes what data tells you is uncomfortable because it’s challenging the norm,” he said at the time. “For me [it’s about] where we can make some marginal differences by using player data and challenging the perspectives of what the industry thinks should and does happen.”

“That’s where I think Game in a Box becomes really interesting,” Curwen says. “The ambition isn’t to use technology to make average games faster. It’s to give talented creators the freedom to try more ideas and hopefully produce better games.”
As work on Game in a Box progressed, Yggdrasil began to see an opportunity extending beyond its own production process.
Historically, building a game studio meant putting all the necessary components in place – from developers and mathematicians to QA and compliance, as well as the underlying systems and integrations. Alternatively, a business looking to enter the market could acquire an existing studio.
